Outstanding Skywarn Volunteer of the Year* * * * * Nomination are closed* * * * *This year we will continue to sponsor a recognition award for a volunteer who has gone above and beyond in supporting Skywarn operations in the Minnesota and Western Wisconsin areas. We are looking for volunteers who have performed above and beyond the call of duty in any of the following ways:
Please forward all nominations (400 words or less) to John Wetter Nominations will be judged by representatives from the National Weather Service offices serving the state of Minnesota in consultation with the Minnesota Skywarn Workshop, with an award presentation taking place the day of the conference. MN Skywarn Workshop Operations GrantWe will be making a major announcement at the 2012 Minnesota Skywarn Workshop! Thanks to your continued support, the Minnesota Skywarn Workshop is going to begin awarding grants for Skywarn Operations in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin. These grants will help to further communications between Skywarn groups and the National Weather Service. Budgets are tight, but the equipment for the life-saving work of storm spotters isn't free, or even cheap. The Minnesota Skywarn Workshop Operations Grant will help fund necessary Skywarn equipment to help continue to build out one of the top Skywarn operational regions in the country.
